NORSKE SKOG RECEIVES REPAIRS DURING CONVID LOCKDOWN
New Zealand, May 2020
During the second week of alert level 4, our Hamilton Manager was called out to a breakdown at Norske Skog. The main plant instrument air dryer as the instrument dew point had plummeted. Tested after-cooler, bleed off cooler/intercoolers in place, and found aftercooler was leaking bad. GCL removed the cooler and took it back to the Hamilton workshop to test and repair if possible. Repair was completed.
One of the company owners drove to Hamilton to pick up the repaired cooler and delivered to site in Kawerau. Met 2 more of the GCL techs, who completed the installation of the cooler. Completed tests to make sure all was operational and all running ok. Had the customer back up and running in a matter of days. Save having to fly an aftercooler in from Germany.
